This page explains how to use the WEB app "TRIZ Idea Generation Method".
When you press the “Generate Ideas” button, the “Products & Services” and “Inventive Principles” are randomly changed.
This feature allows you to randomly combine “Products & Services” with “Inventive Principles”.
The “Products & Services” section displays randomly selected words extracted from a wide range of products and services that exist in the market.
The “Inventive Principles” section displays one of the 40 inventive principles used to solve technical problems. Abstract model diagrams are also shown so that the inventive principles can be understood intuitively.
What is TRIZ?
TRIZ is a systematic innovation tool. It is a method of idea generation and problem-solving developed by studying more than 2.5 million inventions and patents from around the world, and extracting common perspectives useful for innovation.
Research has shown that there are patterns in inventions. Among them, the 40 inventive principles serve as standard approaches for solving technical problems.
This WEB app “TRIZ Idea Generation Method” enables users to randomly generate startup ideas and business ideas by combining the 40 inventive principles with various products and services.

Inventive Principle displays one of the 40 inventive principles in TRIZ.
Model Diagram displays an abstract visual diagram that helps users intuitively understand the inventive principle.
Key Words display concrete examples related to the inventive principle. Referring to these examples can make idea generation easier.
However, there is one important thing to keep in mind. Do not become too attached to the model diagrams or keywords. They may limit your free thinking and creativity.
The true focus of idea generation should always be the words of the 40 inventive principles themselves. For example, in the case above, you should focus on the phrase “Partial or Excessive Action” and generate ideas from that perspective.
What is the Category Version?
The Category-Based TRIZ Idea Generator allows you to generate ideas within specific product categories. First, click the “Category-Based TRIZ Idea Generation” link from the left-side menu on the top page.
You will then move to a page containing category links.
For example, suppose you want to generate business ideas for stationery products. In that case, it would not be useful if home appliances or food products appeared in the “Products & Services” section.
Therefore, in the Category-Based TRIZ Idea Generator, the “Products & Services” section randomly displays only products and services belonging to a specific market category.
This feature allows even existing business owners to generate startup ideas and business ideas specialized for their own business domain.
